AssetWise CONNECT Edition Help

To Add a File to an Object

You can upload files and attach them to an object in AssetWise CONNECT Edition, provided that the document is not yet approved.

Files can also be added to other objects, as long as the document class marked as "file container" is assigned to that object class.

Note: You can add any type of file to the community, as long as the file type is included in the list of allowed file types. Most file types are already supported by default, and your administrator may include additional file types by request.

Follow these steps to add files to AssetWise documents.

  1. Open the object to which you want to add a file.
  2. Select the Files tab, and then do one of the following:

From the Actions menu, select Upload.

    or

If there are no files currently attached to this document, you can click Upload in the file list area.

The Choose File to Upload dialog appears.
Tip: You can also drag and drop files from the Windows Explorer into the file list area, providing that the files are from the same scope.
  3. Browse to select the file to upload and click Open. The file is added to the document.
Note: Adding files automatically creates a Master document copy.
